Fruitful AI has closed a seed round to scale industrial computer vision for quality control and manufacturing efficiency. The round was co-led by MFL Group, a global manufacturer of industrial equipment, and Hatteland Group, a Norwegian industrial investor. The investment strengthens Fruitful AI's path to bring AI-driven precision to the production floor.
Fueling growth
The funding will expand the reach of our two platform halves: Neo Cloud and Neo Edge.
Neo Edge runs real-time defect detection on the production line, where the milliseconds matter. Neo Cloud handles data labeling, system setup, and long-term analysis — the lab where engineers design pipelines and ship them to the line.
Together, they let manufacturers build vision systems on a laptop and run them on the floor — same afternoon.
Strategic partnership with industry leaders
The co-lead investors bring decades of experience and market reach. As part of the partnership, Andrés Cartagena Ruiz, Head of MFL X, joins the Fruitful AI board. With deep expertise in servitization and digitalization, Andres will help guide the company's direction and expand its market footprint.
"This investment is another step in MFL Group's Corporate Venturing journey, backing high-tech startups reshaping industry." — Andrés Cartagena Ruiz, Head of MFL X
"We're thrilled to partner with MFL Group and Hatteland. Their expertise in manufacturing and automation aligns with our vision: deliver AI that's both powerful and practical." — Patrick Albrecht, CEO
Meeting industry demands
Manufacturers face mounting pressure to improve quality and reduce waste. Traditional inspection methods rely on human attention or rigid rules — both struggle with variability.
Fruitful AI's approach addresses these gaps with:
- Precision — defect detection on shiny metals, transparent glass, and other surfaces that defeat conventional vision systems.
- Rapid setup — as few as 30 defect-free images to begin. The system learns from the line and improves over time.
- Scalable performance — over 35 inspections per second, with horizontal scaling across multiple edge devices for the most demanding lines.
A vision for the future
Fruitful AI's commitment is to make industrial vision accessible — to manufacturers of every size, with adoption that doesn't require a research lab. The funding will also support ongoing R&D to refine algorithms, expand platform features, and explore new use cases across industries.
"We believe in a future where AI drives smarter, more sustainable manufacturing. This funding is vital in making that future a reality." — Alberto Cenedese, COO
About Fruitful AI
Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Fruitful AI builds the platform manufacturers use to design, deploy, and scale industrial vision — across every line, every site. Swiss-made; built for the engineers who already know the process.
